NYC-DSA's Citywide Political Education Committee is piloting a **_NEW_** series of foundational socialist modules!

The final of these three modules is **_What is Socialism?_** In this module, students will learn about democratic socialism and its goals while considering the role of political organizations and strategies for political and economic struggle against capitalism. Together, we will consider how socialists should approach reform, electoral power, and state transformation.

We ask that all participants read through [the reading packet](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xrh93114PR6upjW-HSPF01xLlSXm30yo/view?usp=drive_link) prior to the class. We also ask that you submit a brief [250 word] memo [to the course google drive](https://drive.google.com/drive/u/2/folders/18DISskJ32WMuTyu1q2x3yxHUCIgECV5v) concisely summarizing key takeaways from that week’s readings, and any questions they’d like to prepare for that week's discussion. [A sample memo can be found here.](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eNE3lBi21O_rJCKbzEpho-7Cdr2-jrq3j2U-E0rtLS4/edit?tab=t.0)
